Kind words from families I’ve had the privilege to support

If you need someone to be "on your team," then I have no doubt that Kate will be the right choice for you! I originally reached out to Kate about midway though my pregnancy about her doula services. When a family friend who's a doula offered to be my doula, time got away from me and I didn't respond to Kate until much later in my pregnancy. When I finally did reach out again to Kate to inquire about placenta encapsulation, she was incredibly understanding of my lack of response earlier and was gracious enough to squeeze in an in-person meeting and supplies drop off before my due date (I think I gave her less than a weeks warning!). Unfortunately, I ended up developing an infection during labor, got a c-section (NOT my plan), and was unable to encapsulate. Upon hearing this, not only was Kate super prompt with offering a reimbursement, but she was even thoughtful enough to offer any mental or physical support/resources she could as I recover. Even though she was unable to provide encapsulation services to me, she never once was made me feel as though she was impatient with me or my situation. If you're looking for someone because you need to feel like someone has your back during your pregnancy no matter what (even despite your own flaws and through unpredictable circumstances), then Kate is it!

Kate helped ensure that my birth experience was peaceful and empowering. She provided the exact amount of support I needed, every step of the way. I am so thankful she was there. She made sure the room was set up based on my preferences so that my husband was free to focus on me when I needed him. Kate encouraged me when things got really hard and reminded me how to use my body most effectively while pushing. She alleviated so much stress, just by being there because I knew she would step in to ensure my wishes were met with the hospital staff. Kate kept a respectful distance when my daughter was born so that we could enjoy the moment as a family. She also took some AMAZING pictures of her birth that I will treasure forever. I highly recommend her services.

Kate was absolutely incredible to work with! We were friends before I became pregnant, but when I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to hire her to be my doula. She is very professional but still the easiest person to talk to and voice all of your desires and concerns about your pregnancy. This was my first pregnancy and although it didn’t go exactly as I originally planned, everything that happened panned out better than I could have imagined or been capable of doing without her help! I definitely attribute my positive outlook of my labor and delivery to her support, both mentally and physically. She is very knowledgeable and was able to work with and suggest ideas to my nurses and midwife without overstepping, and she’s great at distracting you and loves a good dance party! What more could anyone want during probably the most vulnerable times in their life?!

I knew I wanted a birth doula from the moment I got pregnant, and we were so blessed to be connected with Kate early on! She was so patient with all of mine and my husbands questions, and always went above and beyond to find information for any & every question we had. I unfortunately had to have a planned c-section due to breech presentation, but even through that Kate was there every step of the way to help me feel prepared and know my options!! I’m so grateful to have had her help and support through this special time in our lives!

I cannot recommend Kate enough! Her services before and after delivery were so refreshing. As a second time mama who did not have a doula the first time around, I can say from experiencing it both ways, that a doula and Kate specifically, is worth EVERY penny. She was warm and friendly, intentional with her time, detailed with her services and I felt heard every time we met. She was available and always checking in, calming my nerves and talking through every possibility of my birth plan so I felt like I had a say no matter what my birth experience ended up being.

Kate was amazing from beginning to end. She met with my husband and I a couple times throughout the months leading up to the birth of our baby girl. She was very informative, encouraging and most importantly she listened to our thoughts and concerns. She was awesome at writing up my birth plan and asked all the right questions so that we would be prepared the day of. We loved having her in the labor and delivery room as well. She shared different positions and techniques to get through the contractions and was very calm and helpful especially when they started to get more intense. Kate never left our side until we were escorted to our nursery suite. We would highly recommend her!

Kate was wonderful during my pregnancy/birth. She provided moral support throughout the pregnancy, texting me to check up on me especially during those tough last few days of waiting. Offering comfort through supportive words and advice. Kate was there throughout my home birth helping any way she could. I would highly recommend her as a doula if you’re looking for that extra encouragement during pregnancy and through labor! It makes such a difference!

Kate is extremely patient, highly knowledgeable, and very attentive. I would recommend her to anyone who is pregnant regardless of what type of birth they want (natural, medicated, or a cesarean). Her kind and intentional personality helped me feel at peace during birth while she was coaching and helping me through my labor..

We used Kate virtually and she was amazing. She didn’t let the distance hinder our experience. She provided me with information that helped me prepare for giving birth as well as breastfeeding and recovery. She also made sure to connect with my husband and answer his questions as well! I highly recommend Soteria for your doula needs. :)

Kate was this incredible beacon of light in the midst of our birth story. As a First Time Mom, I had no idea what to expect - despite reading and researching all the things. We had to be induced early, around 36 weeks, due to some potential complications that our OB’s were hoping to mitigate, and still Kate made herself available to us. When I say, she went above and beyond the call of duty, I mean that wholeheartedly. […] It’s so clear to me, how anointed her calling to serve mothers as a doula is and her peaceful, grounding presence during those hours is something I hold dear. Not to mention her thorough follow up support for me in those tough, early postpartum days as well. Her dedication to her clients is truly awe-inspiring.
