Pay-What-You-Can Virtual Prenatal Breastfeeding Consultation
It is so important to me that every woman who wants to breastfeed, gets the support and help she needs. My hope is with this model, I can reach a greater population with education that’s affordable for them. Every breastfeeding journey should start out with a prenatal assessment to discuss any concerns or questions the parent has about the process of breastfeeding, their family history of breastfeeding, or to discuss past experiences, fears, and expectations. That is why I am offering 1 hour virtual prenatal breastfeeding consultations for expecting parents on a pay-what-you-can basis. Here is what is included in the consultation:
Collecting a basic medical history to determine and discuss factors that may impact your lactation and/or breastfeeding experience.
Discussion of breastfeeding goals and a plan for meeting those goals.
Basic breastfeeding education, including what a good latch looks like, positioning, how colostrum transitions to mature milk, factors that can impact lactation initiation.
“Breastfeeding: The First 4 Days” handout.
Referral to IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) for complex issues or concerns.
